EDI TASKS
The EDI and IDoc basis uses the following tasks in the
standard system (process code/description):

EDIM Task TS30000020: Notification without IDoc
EDIN Task TS70008037: Notification with NAST record (as of 4.6)
EDIP Task TS60001307: Notification on lot error (as of 4.5)
EDIO Task TS00007989: Notification on initial error
EDIX Task TS00008070: Notification on syntax error (outbox)
EDII Task TS00008068: Notification on inbound error
EDIY Task TS00008074: Notification on syntax error (inbox)
EDIR Task TS70008125: Status report with postprocessing (as of 4.6)
EDIS Task TS30000078: Status report without postprocessing

You must allocate “possible users” to the named tasks in the workflow and “allowed contacts” in the IDoc interface (partner profile and IDoc administration).

ABBREVIATIONS
IDOC – INTERMEDIATE DOCUMENT -SAP TERM – used for EDI processing and input/output formatting of data for SAP transactions.
DME – data medium exchange – before EDI banks used DME to communicate electronically. DME is still in use by banks for electronic processing; although, most DME transmissions can be replaced by an EDI transaction set.
EDI – electronic data interchange
ISO – international standards organiztion
ANSI – American National Standards Institute.
ANSI LAYOUT SET – a set of data that corresponds to a transaction. For example, the ANSI LAYOUT SET, 810, is an invoice; 850 is a purchase order.
